FAQs
Quick answers about buying, shipping, returns, the warranty, and custom PCs. The full details live on our policies page.
Buying
Which PC should I get?
Answer 5 quick questions and we’ll show you how fast each PC runs the games you play, and which one fits your budget. It takes about 30 seconds and we don’t ask for your email.
What’s the difference between outlet, customs, and builds?
Outlet is used PCs and laptops. We clean them, fix them, test them, and sell them cheap. From $299.
Customs are built around you. You tell us your budget, your games, and the look you want, and we plan the whole PC. From $499.
Builds are our three set PCs, Entry Level, Mid Range, and High End, put together after you order with current graphics cards and processors. From $999.
All of them come with the same one-year warranty.
Are outlet PCs new?
No. Outlet PCs are used computers that we clean, fix up, and test before they go on sale. That’s how they start at $299. They get the same one-year warranty as everything else.
How do I know a PC will run my games?
Every product page shows the frame rates that PC gets in popular games. The find your pc quiz does the same for the games you play.
If you’re still not sure, ask us before you buy. We can’t take a PC back because it didn’t do what you hoped, so we’d much rather answer the question first.
How do I pay?
At checkout. Payments go through Authorize.net, in US dollars, and are paid in full before your order is processed.
How can I get a free PC?
You found it. Start here.
Shipping
Where do you ship?
The United States only. We don’t ship outside the US or to U.S. territories.
Shipping is free everywhere except Alaska and Hawaii. Those two pay a fee, and you’ll see it at checkout before you pay.
How long does shipping take?
Every product page shows its own ship time, so check it before you order. Some outlet PCs go out in 1 to 2 business days. Others are listed at 2 to 4 weeks.
Custom PCs usually ship 8 to 12 business days after you approve your parts list and pay.
Can I get it by a certain date?
Ask us before you order. If it’s for a birthday or a holiday, tell us the date and we’ll tell you honestly whether we can make it.
Why is my custom PC taking longer?
Sometimes a part ordered for your build arrives faulty. When that happens we replace it instead of shipping you a PC we don’t trust, which usually adds 4 to 6 business days. We’ll tell you if it happens to your build.
Cancelling and returns
Can I cancel my order?
Outlet PCs, laptops, parts, and builds can be cancelled before they ship. Within 72 hours of ordering there’s a 5% fee. After 72 hours it’s 10%. The fee covers what our payment processor keeps, which we don’t get back when we refund you.
If you’re cancelling because we delayed your order, there’s no fee.
Custom PCs can’t be cancelled once you approve your parts list and pay, because we order those exact parts for your PC that day.
Can I return my PC?
Only if something’s wrong with it: it won’t turn on, it overheats, or it crashes or freezes during normal use. Tell us within 14 days of delivery. After 14 days we’ll repair it, but we can’t refund or replace it.
We can’t take a PC back because it wasn’t what you hoped for, so check that it does what you need before you buy.
My PC arrived damaged or won’t work. What do I do?
Message us right away with photos of the box and the PC. If you reach us within 14 days of delivery, we’ll repair it, replace it, or refund you.
Please don’t open it up or swap parts first. Changes we didn’t ask for end your return eligibility.
How do I send a PC back?
Once we approve your return, we’ll send you a label. Ship the PC within 7 days of getting it.
Warranty
What does the warranty cover?
Every PC we sell comes with a free one-year warranty on parts and labor, starting the day it arrives. If a part breaks, we fix it, replace it, or refund you. You talk to the people who built it, not a help desk.
What isn’t covered?
Things done to the PC after it leaves us: swapping parts, overclocking, undervolting, BIOS updates, and software you install. It also doesn’t cover keyboards, mice, monitors, lost files, or a PC you built yourself from our parts list.
Can I upgrade my PC?
It’s your PC, but parts you add or swap aren’t covered by our warranty. Message us before you open it up, and we’ll tell you what it does to your coverage.
Something’s wrong with my PC. Can I take it to a repair shop?
Please don’t. A repair shop voids the warranty. Message us first and we’ll sort it out under the coverage you already have.
Custom PCs
How does a custom PC work?
Tell us what you want to spend, what games you play, and how you want it to look. We send you a full parts list in 1 to 2 business days. If you like it, we build it by hand in our New York shop and ship it to you.
There’s a $19.99 fee to start. Start your build here.
What happens to the $19.99?
If we build your PC, it becomes credit toward that build and comes off the price. It’s credit, not money back on your card, and it’s good for 90 days from when we send your parts list.
Change your mind before we send the list and we’ll refund it in full. After that, the work is done and the fee isn’t refundable.
How much does a custom PC cost?
Between $499 and $4,999, depending on the parts. The $19.99 is the only thing you pay up front.
What if I don’t know my budget?
That’s fine. Tell us the games you play and what else you’ll use it for, and we’ll come back with a few options at different prices.
Can I choose my own parts?
Yes. Add them to the form and we’ll build around them. If something won’t work with the rest, we’ll tell you why and suggest the closest part that will.
Can I get the parts list and build it myself?
Yes. The list is yours to use however you like, and we keep the $19.99. A PC you build yourself doesn’t get our warranty, but each part still has its maker’s warranty.
Can I cancel a custom PC?
Not once you’ve approved your parts list and paid. We order those exact parts for your PC that day, and we can’t sell them to anyone else. Take your time with the list and ask us anything first.
If we can’t finish your build, you get a full refund, including the $19.99.
Will my build be in a video?
Maybe. We film some of the custom PCs we build for our channel. Yours could be next.
